Common uses

Strategic management

  • Better decision making thanks to improved quality of financial information:
  • Financial plans can be more detailed and easier to maintain than it is the case when only spreadsheets are used.
  • Scenario building:
  • It is easier to define and incorporate different alternatives for transactions that are forecast and see their impact on the statement of financial position and statement of financial performance.
  • Investment project appraisal in terms of its impact on the organization’s financial statements:
  • The User can switch on or off individual segments of data dedicated for example to different alternative projects.

Budgeting and financial control

  • Variants: It is possible to save “snapshots” of plans and to use these saved plans for controlling reports.
  • Rolling forecasts: Rolling forecasts are easier to maintain because historical data automatically supersede previously forecast transactions starting at the period indicated by the User.
  • Easy incorporation of user’s financial models, IFRS calculations, etc. that are already available in an organisation: Instead of retyping or defining assumptions in an external system, the user can continue to benefit from Excel’s features. Once entry-level calculations have been modelled, the user only needs to indicate to BizController which figures should automatically be synchronised.

Financial management and analysis

  • Cash flow management: BizController makes it easier to manage cash flows and forecast capital requirement due to support for cash accounts.
  • Consolidation and other uses: BizController can easily be used in a wider range of applications where financial information from several spreadsheets needs to be consolidated or where prospective financial information is needed, for example, in project appraisal exercises, impairment tests or value based management.
